you'll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again!

Just want to share some fact bout BANANAS.....

Bananas containing three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND among people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:
Forget the pills --- eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect way to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power:
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brainpower. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body; so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work?
Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:
Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):
Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking:
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:
According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine," eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

In Prison versus At Work

A friend forwarded me this email and i find it interesting... If you'll grasp the thought it has SENSE! Read this and find it yourself...

IN PRISON : you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell.
AT WORK : you spend most of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.

IN PRISON : you get three meals a day (free).
AT WORK : you only get a break for one meal and you
have to pay for it yourself.

IN PRISON : you get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK : you get rewarded for good behavior with more WORK.

IN PRISON : a guard locks and unlocks the doors for you.
AT WORK : you must carry around a security card and unlock then
open all the doors yourself.

IN PRISON : you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK : you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON : you get your own toilet.
AT WORK : you have to share.

IN PRISON : they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK : you can not even speak to your family and friends.

IN PRISON: all expenses are paid by taxpayers with no
work at all.
AT WORK : You get to pay all the expenses to go
to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary
to pay for the prisoners.

Crab mentality

This past few days I personally experiencing sudden change of behavior from my co-colleagues. It was started when the Human Resource Department called my attention to comply requirements for my one level promotion, from contractual to casual position. Actually, am so hesitant to comply the requirements cause two years ago, I was a victim of Political assault... same thing HR Department instructed me to comply this and that documents but in snap of a finger my item had vanished. It was stolen from me and was given to another person whom identified as a close relative of a politician. That unforgettable experience had left a "scar" in my heart and mind. Two years to be exact, another opportunity knocks on my door which i believe " GOD's gift for me". Now, my appointment was real....Glory unto GOD!

Am so thankful for this rare opportunity, though am not expecting it to happen this year but GOD is so good to me. What a wonderful Blessing for year 2008. My family and friends so long with my mentors were so happy for me, they said " I deserved it and am so blessed" truly a good start for me this year". Of course, I myself is overjoyed cause at long last my hardship bear fruits... But in contrary , i can feel that my other colleagues were so bitter, they may not say anything but i felt it. I can understand what they felt cause they are also expecting to be promoted this year. I just feel bad that their attitudes towards me had a sudden change. Were all buddies and i can't remember any single thing we had argue with... were family here but All had change when i was entrusted a higher position.

Am asking my self- why do people have this so called "crab mentality"...a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you." This refers to a pot of crabs in which one tries to escape over the side, but is relentlessly pulled down by the others in the pot....... Grrrrrrr... am experiencing the same scenario now, why they don't just be happy for me, I don't asked this from the management, it was offered to me and am just accepting what they have given.

Anyways, new responsibilities means new trials and challenges. I may not be 100% ready to face it all but i know i can make it... As long as I don't step anyone's shoes and my conscience is clear I know GOD will help me to get through with it. This crisis will surely pass by and will make me a better person.

Last Monday, i have a chance to chat with Ellaine, she is the one who convince me to have my own page here...(thanks, gurl! i owe u a lot). I asked here about links and how to do it. Am neophyte in blogging and i really don't have an idea how to manage such to my own page. Luckily, my mentor is so patient teaching me online... i took a short course on this subject for FREE hahahaha...I tried many times the procedures she taught me but It's failed, we really don't know why.... until sistah got disconnected and our tutorial session ended...

1st tagged for the year : My 2007 Blues and Bliss

This is the first tagged I've received from Ellaine for year 2008. So grateful to her cause she is the reason why am here hehehehehe. Thanks girl for the friendship and continues support...(",)

Looking back to year 2007, it was been good to me so long with my family. It was a wonderful year though a lot of unexpected things hit me, but to some it up it was been great GOD's love and blessings was been felt and it continuously pouring!

My 2007 Blues:

1. As early as FIRST QUARTER of 2007, I've experienced one of my saddest moment. Been hurt badly am referring to my personal life. Have to let go a person whom I love not because I don't love him anymore but that's how great my Love for him. (just followed the quotable quotes " If you really love someone, you must set him free"! We decided to separate ways because of distance and no 3rd party involved. We can't really be together as much as we want too cause of his " CALLING".

2. I wasn't able to continue my plans of taking up Medical Transcription course cause been busy with work and am also hesitant to enrolled in any school here in the City cause i want to study in Davao City.

3. I leave my Special Technical Division Team cause I was transfered to a new office. What makes me blue here was, am gonna miss my gurl group. We've been working together for almost 3 years from our Planning Office till were hand pick to manned the STD division.

4. My bestfriend had a car accident that almost killed him.I was so down when I learned of what happened. His car was totally wrecked which was bump by a weena passenger bus.

5. One of the Saddest moment in our family last year was the passing away of my grandmother. The beloved mom of my dear papa. She died at the age of 92.

My 2007 Bliss:

1. Meeting new friends online with the person of Scott and Ellaine was one of my blessings last year. They have been very supportive to me. I am so thankful that GOD gave me a chance to know them both though we've not meet yet personally. But very soon this year it will happen hehehehehe...

2. Trust and Confidence from my BOSSES- been grateful to them for opening a new opportunity to explore my capacity and capabilities. I was designated as Acting Admin Officer for the newly build Integrated Transport Station. The task is hard but little by little i learn to love what am doing. I've started from scratch but now I can say am more than halfway to impose a strategic, well-organized, well-imposed and well-discipline management system. Thanks to my co-employees for being a good team player.

3. My family is intact, we are all safe and sound!

4. Got a chance to reunite with my bestfriend who's staying in Davao City as well as to my super duper gurl friend partner Ethel dear. Though I just spend hours with them but It was timeless hehehehe... our bonding is indeed quality and precious.

5. One big achievement we ran the ITS hitting our quota just in time. We had a successful year-end party and of course the number of days i lobbied for my staff was approved December 31,2007. A good end for my me as well as to my staff and for sure a good START for the ALL OF US.

Here’s how it works:

FeAtUrInG mY sPeCiAL TeCHniCaL DiViSiOn TeAM

It's nearly 7 months when i was away with my former office, the SPECIAL TECHNICAL DIVISION of the City. Am one of the pioneer of this team. Originally were 8 in the group headed by City Mayor. The team was created to augment the needs of the City Local Chief specially with their special priority projects. The team is personally hand pick by the head through the help of our City Administrator that acted as our Senior adviser.

After a year our team welcomes another 2 versatile personnel as a support staff.I stayed more than 2 years in this division before i was transfered to the newly operational ITS which am handling the Administrative Office and as a support staff to the Operation Manager. I miss my gurl teammates... Yes, out of 10 members 7 of which are gurls... Actually, my STD team is known as GURL pOWER office, mind you we can do anything hehehhehe.... from designing (photoshop, auto cadd) , project proposal writing, project feasibility study packaging, lay-outing, photography, video editing, script writing, documentary and a lot more. Each member has their own forte, so we share our expertise to the team, so no wonder we always succeeded in our handled projects.

One of the major project our team handled was the Kidapawan City Integrated Transport Station, wherein am working right now. It is a multi-million special priority project of the Local Government Unit. In fact, this project was the biggest and most successful project of the city for the year 2007. The KCITS project was known because of its world class design for an Overland Terminal. First of a kind in the Mindanao Region.

Another multi-million project were handling was Secondary Education Development and Improvement Project (SEDIP) funded by Japan Government wherein more than 100 newly build buildings, classrooms, laboratories and equipment were included in this package. Benefiting more than 21 Secondary Schools in the entire city of Kidapawan.

So long with this are the infrastructure projects in the 40 barangays of the city, to mentioned the development of the AGCO MOUNTAIN SPA RESORT, which is one of the tourist attraction of the city.

Am so thankful and proud i was part of this group wherein i developed my skills in technical writing and trained me to be more knowledgeable in development projects.i owe a lot in my team, cause am not be as strong, confident and competent in my field without them.

Hmmm.... i miss working with them again, but its next to impossible now cause most of my teammates were in Dubai for more than a month now.... They were only 2left in the office,whew..... so sad cause pioneers of the team leave the office but for a good reason.... Frankly speaking cause of financial reason! It's understandable hence were not really well compensated compared with others.Am not bragging or carrying my chair but our task can be matched with consultancy works.

Anyways, am not part of the team now... but am still in spirit with them hehehehe.... Am happy were i am now, though i started from scratched when i was transfered to the ITS but now I've started building my castle hahahahahaha...... am enjoying my stay, my team and i love my work cause after 7 months of blood, tears and sweat i can see that our system is set and were operating with flying colors.....

EMPTY

He's the man known to everyone... a man of the world, he's called. For the money he works hard, toils with all his might. With neither holidays nor holy days to mind. So, immersed and obsessed in the bettering his lot. He'd stop at nothing, even cheat, bribe, or con, Pull strings, if not pull the trigger on anyone. To make the most of everything he lays his hands. On and on he goes, eyeing profit for his every stride.

Then, after every good deal he closes, he'd travel, To wine and dine at the lushest of brasseries, Don the finest of wardrobes and jewelries, Ride the fanciest of cars, yachts, jets, or what have you. And, as though these weren't enough, he'd revel. Twist and dirty-dance to the tune of whoremongery. Get high and bungee-jump down to the pit of perversity.Quench the most pruprient urges of his hedonic psyche.

But then, one daybreak, at the end of his wild partying, just before the arteries of his all-used-up body would erupt, In tipsiness, he glanced at what's left of the cognac on his hands and saw for the first time his life for what it really was beyond the distorted reflection of his face on the glass. The sound of his laughter was different this time, When he said with bitter tears 'round his eyes. " This EMPTY bottle in my life!" This Empty, wasted bottle in my....."

No sooner had he finished saying this than his stone-cold heart gave in his weight then crashed onto the floor, breaking his spine and limbs and so there he laid, all alone, helplessly wondering what had hit him as he excruciatingly bid goodbye to all that he had sweat blood for, regretting, albeit too late, not having found life's true worth....

i hope you can relate on this... GOD BLESS!

First Trial for 2008

Today, Wednesday January 2, 2008... my first day of office for 2008.

I know it would be a busy day for me so I already prepared myself. As I entered the KCITS premises,I've noticed something is wrong with our operation. As expected a lot of passengers is flocking inside the terminal, what makes it weird there were no bus inside KCITS. Hmmmm.... it's not good, really not good for the start of the year.

Weena Bus Company, pull-out their units inside the overland terminal and temporarily makes the hi-way as their bus stop station.I just want to share something why it happened.

Last December 31, 2007, the KCITS management issued a notice approved by the Local Chief Executive to implement the approved 2006 Ordinance for fixed collection of rates and charges in regards with the operation of the ITS starting January 1, 2008.From the old rate of P10.00 per parking it would be increase to P30.00 as indicated in Kidapawan City ITS Code approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod. The Weena Bus Line don't want to pay such amount so they decided to stay outside the terminal. This situation created a lot of problem in our part not because were worried that they will not gonna operate in our place but most of all our concern was the commuting public who are expecting a nice accommodation for their trips back home from a long break.

Our big bosses, had an emergency meeting as early as 8:30 in the morning, discussing possible alternatives just to accommodate all the stranded passengers. A lot of option was done, but still cannot accommodate the numbers of commuting public arriving the premises. I received left and right calls from concerns citizens as well as from the city local radio stations..... which one of their reporter is indeed inconsiderate ( i hated him whew.... he does rises my temper). North, South,East, West instructions was given to me and then i personally feed it to the staff for proper action. A lot of drama occurs, wherein another bus line will rescue and very much willing to operate in replacement of the striking weena bus line....

whew, after 3 hours of negotiation, everything was back into normal....... weena bus line came back to the ITS and agrees to pay the rate charge to them.... whatta.... whatta.....hehehehhehe... in vernacular dialect..... anak ng teting hehehehe....

Anyways, thanks we've surpass the 1st trial in our operation..... one down more to go heheheheh....

HAPPY NEW YEAR... WELCOME 2008

Thanks GOD for another year!

My whole family welcome the year with a prayer. I feel so blessed and very grateful to GOD cause my family is complete, they are all healthy except me hehehehe... but i will be fine soon with the help of our LORD GOD.

We ate and drink together then watch the fireworks outside. We enjoyed every spark of light in the sky, it's really amazing. In fact, my nephew Andrei is shouting every time he saw a blast of a very colorful ray of light. He enjoyed a lot and so we are hehehehe. We stayed almost an hour outside enjoying the fireworks display prepared by our neighbors hehehehe...

Personally, I welcome the year pleasantly... I hope this year would be great, not only for me and my family, but for everyone.I wish this year will bring more blessings to everyone, peace in the whole world, joy to every family and freedom for our CHURCH so that we can propagate more the words of GOD.

Happy New Year, everyone...WELCOME 2008...
